Speaker, Dy Speaker LA review ongoing development works in Assembly Secretariat

Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh today chaired a high-level meeting which was attended by Deputy Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Nazir Ahmed Khan Gurezi, Advisor to Governor, B B Vyas and other senior officers of concerned departments to review pace of various developmental works at Assembly Complexes.The meeting discussed in detail all the ongoing works and the Speaker stressed the need to expedite the same. To which, the Advisor directed the Managing Director, JKPCC that month-wise benchmark should be fixed in respect of financial requirement and physical achievements of the said project.The Advisor also directed MD JKPCC to prepare a DPR before 31 July 2018 for getting administrative approval in respect of setting up of Audio/Visual System in the Legislature Complex. He also directed the Secretary Law to conduct on the spot visit of the new Legislature complex Jammu and to take stock of the present status in this regard.Construction of Additional Block of Legislators' Hostel Srinagar was also discussed in the meeting and it was revealed that the matter has already been taken up with the Estates Department.

While reviewing the present status of E- Assembly Project in Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, the Advisor directed the concerned authorities of IT department to adopt Himachal Pradesh module while executing the project.Among others, Secretary Law, Abdul Majid Bhat, Secretary Assembly, Rattan Lal Sharma, Managing Director, JKPCC, Additional Secretary, Assembly, Naseem Jan, Additional Secretary, IT Department, Shiv Kumar and other senior officers of concerned department and Assembly Secretariat were also present in the meeting.Earlier the Speaker and Deputy Speaker toured the Legislature assembly complex Srinagar to inspect various works.During the inspection the Speaker inspected the lawn/park adjacent to the Legislature Complex and directed the concerned authorities for the beautification and maintenance of the Parks. They also took stock of the place for the parking of the vehicles for the staff of Assembly and Council Secretariat.The Speaker also visited the Civil Secretariat Dispensary situated in the vicinity of Assembly Secretariat and took stock of the medical facilities being provided to the employees. He also interacted with the medical staff and enquired about the medical facilities put in place in the dispensary.
