Ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has ridiculed the statement over Exam dates issued by the Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) Chairman , terming it uncalled for and contradictory to the ground situation.PDP’s Srinagar district president and MLC Mohammad Khurshid Alam in a statement has rejected his assertions about the timing of annual exams and said that his while failing on other fronts has started poking his nose into education sector to grab headlines. “The truth is that people like him have failed their amalgams and are now trying their fortunes in politicising state’s education sector,” Alam said. The PDP leader added that the decision to hold exams in November as well as in March is a historic one- taken while keeping into consideration the aspirations of the student fraternity.

He added that such a decision would prove helpful for state educational overall growth and would give freedom to children over the timing of the examinations. “There isn’t a single example of such pro-student decision taken ever in state’s past. In no way it shall be detrimental for the students’ future- it in indeed aimed to benefit them at large,” Alam maintained. While castigating the parties who for their vested interests are using the already perturbed student community, PDP’s Srinagar president maintained that people irrespective of their political ideologies should hail the decision taken by the state government at present over the conduction of annual exams for Class 10th and 12th. “Instead of striving to get the headlines of the news dailies, people like him should focus on the measures ought to be taken to soothe the blighted people of Kashmir Valley. Students enmasse are hailing the government decision. He is only trying to create chaos for the reasons best known to everyone,” Alam said.
