The Punjab Government has decided to honour three best performing Panchayats of every district, who have carried out holistic development in villages falling under their jurisdiction in accordance with the policies of the state government, on 15th August, 2016 at a state level felicitation function.Disclosing this Sikandar Singh  Maluka,  Rural Development and Panchayats Minister said that under the Swach Bharat Mission three best performing panchyats in each district be awarded cash prize. He said 22 panchyats who would stood first would get Rs.5 lakh each, 22 Panchyats at second number would get Rs.3 lakh whereas 22 Panchyats at third position would get Rs.2 lakh each.He said these Panchyats would be awarded during the state level function of Independence Day on August 15.Mr. Maluka further said that instructions have been given to all the Deputy Commissioners of the districts to select 3 gram panchayats in co-ordination with the District Development and Panchayat Officer of their respective districts.
