The Labour and Employment Minister Chunni Lal Bhagat has launched e-labour web portal http://pblabour.gov.in in order to further simplify the setting up of new industrial units in the state.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhagat said that with the launch of this portal the unnecessary hassles in obtaining various sanctions while setting up of new industrial units. He also said that from now all the required sanctions and permissions, Registrations, license, designs, etc   would be approved online under Punjab Factories Rules 1948, 1952. Besides that all the already running units would get the renewal online. The Minister also said that under contract labour Act 1973, the contractors and Principal Employers would get the registration, licenses and renewal online.Referring to the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishment Act, 1958 the shopkeepers and traders could get themselves registered online in this web portal.

All the commercial establishments under Punjab Buildings and Other Construction Workers Rules 2008 could also be registered online.Principal Secretary Labour Dr. Roshan Sankaria informed that the Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal had directed the department to launch the web portal by June 30, 2016 but with the untiring efforts of the officers and technical staff, the task was accomplished before time. He said that this web portal would prove to be useful and informative for the workers as well as commercial establishments. They would get acquainted with the   government rules and regulations issued time to time.Dr. Sankaria has directed the officers of the department to update the inspection report of the commercial establishments and factories within 48 hours so that the management of the establishment could also check the details online this would bring transparency in the entire procedure.Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included, Mr. Tejinder Singh Dhailwal, Labour Commissioner Punjab, Dr. Ranjana Nagpal Deputy Director Information Technology and Mr. Sodhi Mal Additional Director were present.
