Chief Minister of Bihar Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday visited Kaimur and Siwan districts, where he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several development and welfare projects while reviewing the implementation of government schemes. During the visit to Kaimur, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 60 development schemes across multiple departments worth approximately Rs 196.06 crore.

Addressing a public outreach Sahyog Shivir camp, he said the government remains committed to ensuring that welfare schemes and public services reach the last person in the queue. According to officials, out of 3.03 lakh applications received under the outreach initiative so far, nearly 2.61 lakh have already been processed, reflecting an implementation rate of around 90 per cent.

Samrat Choudhary announced several major tourism and infrastructure initiatives for the Kaimur region, including the renovation of Maa Mundeshwari Dham, the construction of a ropeway for pilgrims, the development of an airport, and the introduction of helicopter services to promote tourism.

He stated that the government’s priority is to complete development projects in a transparent, time-bound and high-quality manner. Later in Siwan, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of public welfare schemes during another Sahyog Shivir and addressed the public gathering.

He directed officials to ensure the swift resolution of grievances raised by citizens. During the event, 38 projects worth approximately Rs 180 crore were inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid remotely to accelerate the district’s development. Choudhary reiterated the Bihar government’s commitment toward empowering poor families, Dalits, farmers, youth and marginalised communities.

He highlighted several major government initiatives, including the installation of solar power systems in the homes of 25 lakh Dalit families, a target to provide jobs and employment opportunities to 1 crore people by 2030, the establishment of a sugar mill in Siwan, and the strengthening of healthcare services across the State.

He said the vision of a developed India and a prosperous Bihar would be achieved through public participation and good governance. During the Siwan visit, Chandravijay Prakash Yadav, popularly known as Happy Yadav and son of former MP Omprakash Yadav, met the Chief Minister and submitted a memorandum demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into two high-profile murder cases from the district.

The memorandum referred to the 2014 murder of BJP leader Shrikant Bharti and the 2025 murder of BJP supporter Roshan Kumar, also known as Sanjay Mahto. According to the BJP leader, important facts in both cases allegedly remain inadequately investigated, leading to delays in justice for the victims’ families.

He alleged that influential individuals may have played suspicious roles in the incidents and argued that only a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation could ensure an impartial and transparent investigation. Speaking to the media after submitting the memorandum, Chandravijay Prakash Yadav expressed hope that the Bihar government would consider handing over both cases to the central agency in the interest of justice and strengthening public confidence in law enforcement.
