Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday held a high-level review meeting in Bhubaneswar to assess security arrangements and administrative preparations for the upcoming high-profile visit of President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the state on June 19 and 20.

Both PM Modi and President Murmu will share the stage during a special event to be held at Rairangpur on June 20, marking the two years of the Odisha government and twelve years of the Central government in office. In the review meeting, detailed discussions were held on security protocols, traffic management, event coordination, and arrangements for the movement of the President and the Prime Minister during their visit.

The Chief Minister directed all departments to work in close coordination to ensure that no lapses occur, particularly during the mega public gathering and the movement of VVIPs. He stressed the need for robust security measures and seamless event management, particularly in view of the large public gatherings expected during the celebrations.

As per the schedule, President Murmu will visit her home district Mayurbhanj on a two-day tour beginning on June 19. The visit assumes special significance as President Murmu will celebrate her birthday on June 20 in Rairangpur, her birthplace and the town where she began her public life.

Chief Minister Majhi described the occasion as a matter of immense pride and joy for the people of Odisha. Special arrangements are being made by the state government and local administration to welcome the President in her native region.

On June 20, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to join President Murmu in Rairangpur for a grand state-level programme being organised as part of the celebrations marking two years of the Odisha government and twelve years of the Central government.

The two top leaders will share the stage and address the mega public gathering at Rairangpur. Chief Minister Majhi expressed confidence during the review meeting that the joint visit of the President and the Prime Minister would further accelerate Odisha's development trajectory.

During the event, President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi are scheduled to jointly inaugurate and lay foundation stones for major projects worth thousands of crores of rupees for Odisha and Mayurbhanj district. These projects include several long-pending railway projects and a mega coal gasification project.

It was also told that President Murmu will inaugurate various developmental initiatives in the health sector at the Rairangpur Sub-Divisional Hospital on June 19. The review meeting was attended by Odisha Chief Minister's Advisor Prakash Mishra, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, Development Commissioner D.K. Singh, and other senior administrative and police officials.
