Taking a jibe on the new slogan of Congress "Chahunda Hai Punjab, Captain Di Sarkar", the former BJP Punjab President and member of the party's national executive Shri Kamal Sharma has said, "Punjab wich koi aisi party di sarkar nahi chahunda jis party wich leader ek doojhe naal sareaam maar kutayi karan te paga hawa wich uchallan (No one in Punjab want a government of a political party (Congress) in which leaders indulge in scuffle publically and turbans are tossed)." Shri Sharma was referring to the yesterday's incident, wherein the Congress leaders entered into a physical brawl at party's state level dharna in Lambi.

Reiterating that SAD-BJP alliance would register a historic win in Punjab to make a hat-trick of victories in the state assembly election, Shri Sharma took a dig at the PPCC President Capt. Amarinder Singh, "Amarinder has miserably failed to keep his flock together. He can't even become a successful 'Captain of Congress' and ironically his poll strategist Prashant Kishor has created a superficial hype of Amarinder by tagging him as 'Punjab Da Captain'. Amarinder is day-dreaming of coming to power, which would break once Congress is decimated in the next Punjab elections, schedule to be held early next year."

Shri Sharma pointed out that Lambi scuffle was not an isolated incident of "factionalism" prevailing in the Punjab Congress. "Even, during the Congress state-level dharna at Dinanagar (Gurdaspur) on June 8, Congress legislator Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa had slapped a Congress Sewa Dal leader I.S.Gulati in full public view, including the party leadership. These incidents are clear reflection of the groupism and gross indiscipline prevailing in the state Congress. When Amarinder cannot curtail such things, how can anyone expect him of taking the party, anywhere near to the victory in the state elections", asserted the former BJP President.

On the Congress demand from Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley of a special economic package for Punjab, Shri Sharma said that Congress should first tell the people of Punjab that what Amarinder has done for Amritsar as a Member of Parliament. "What to talk of doing anything good for Amritsar, Amarinder rarely pays a visit to his parliamentary constituency", he said, while advising the Amritsar MP to atleast perform his duties, as a member of Lok Sabha.
