Member, Legislative Council, Khurshid Alam Monday visited various areas of Srinagar city and took stock of several developmental works being carried out.Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone and other officers of various departments accompanied him during the tour.While inspecting Jama Masjid area at Nowhata, Mr. Alam took stock of the preparations made for the construction of community hall there. He asked the concerned to speed up the work of acquiring additional land for the purpose. Mr. Alam said that by construction of said Community hall people of the area will be benefitted and can avail facilities during different social functions. He  stressed on maintaining cleanliness in and around the Jama Masjid premises.

Mr. Alam also inspected Gani Memorial Library at Rajouri Kadal in Shahr-i-Khaas and highlighted the heritage and historical importance of the building.He also visited the graveyard of famous poet Gani Kashmiri and offered Fateha. He directed the concerned for renovation and repairs of the graveyard.During his visit several deputations put forth their issues before him. Mr. Alam assured all the deputationists that all their genuine demands will be redressed on priority. He said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed led government is committed for providing all facilities at the door steps of the people and various initiatives have been taken in this regard so far.
