In view of Fruit season, empty trucks to ply via Mughal road: IGP Traffic

In view of the heavy traffic movement expected during the fruit season starting from mid September, IGP Traffic J&K in a communication has instructed that empty load carriers and Oil tankers shall not be allowed on NH-44 ie Srinagar-Jammu road. Instead, all such empty vehicles shall take the Mughal road route to decongest the NH for passengers and down convoy movement of fruit trucks.Similarly, the IGP said that empty load carriers from Jammu to Srinagar shall also be diverted via Mughal road route from 10th September 2015 onwards.The Communication further reads that SSP traffic concerned shall ensure compliance of the traffic plan and submit report in this regard after the plan comes into effect. Moreover, all Zonal IGPs have been urged to direct the SHOs, SDPOs, SSsP concerned to provide necessary police assistance to traffic police for strict implementation of the traffic plan.
