Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) while observing one day fast as a mark of protest on Thursday to seek justice for the victims of 1984 Sikh genocide at SAS Nagar (Mohali) has sought an apology from PPCC president, Capt Amarinder Singh in 15 days failing which he would have face demonstration all across Punjab. Senior leaders of Aam Aadmi Party including state convener, Gurpreet Singh Waraich, Senior leader, Adv. H.S. Phoolka, Co- incharge, Jarnail Singh, Sangrur MP, Bhagwant Mann, head Manifesto committee, Kanwar Sandhu, Head RTI cell, Sukhpal Khaira, Head legal cell, Himmat Singh Shergill, Youth wing head, Harjot Singh Bains, women wing head Prof. Baljinder Kaur, 1984 massacre victims H.S. Kohli and Nirpreet Kaur sat on one day fast in front of Gurdwara Amb Sahib demanding action against the culprits of the Sikh genocide in 1984 all across the country.Addressing the gathering, H.S. Phoolka said that it is shameful that even after 32 years of incident the culprits are not yet punished as per the law of the land. The almighty has assigned him the duty to raise the voice of unheard and he would continue to do it till his last breath.
Phoolka said that opposition parties such as Shiromani Akali Dal, BJP & Congress were misleading people that AAP was raising the 1984 issue to mint votes but the fact was that AAP leaders including him, Jarnail Singh and others were fighting for the cause even before they joined politics. Criticizing Punjab Congress chief, Captain Amrinder Singh for favoring Jagdish Tytler, Sajjan Kumar, Kamal Nath and other Congress leaders, Phoolka termed him the traitor of Sikhs for backstabbing the community. Phoolka said almost all inquiry commissions appointed to probe the Sikh genocide have clearly mentioned the names of congress leaders Jagdish Tytler, Kamal Nath and Sajjan Kumar for their role in the massacre of the Sikh masses. So who is Capt Amarinder to give a clean chit to all the aforesaid congress leaders?“It appears that Capt Amarinder is trying to protect Tytler, Kamal Nath and Sajjan Kumar out of compulsion especially fearing the backlash from the Sikh masses when the polls are around the corner".
Phoolka said Capt Amarinder was either lying or moving in the vehicles of the Sikh murderers when he claimed that on the day of the genocide he was himself moving around in Delhi and visited several Gurudwaras. “At that time even Gen. Gurbaksh Singh Arora was not able to move around freely as the congress led murderers of the Sikhs were unleashing wrath on the community. Moreover there is not even a single witness to prove that Capt Amarinder was actually moving in Delhi when the massacre was taking place", said Phoolka.Phoolka said Tytler's name appeared in most of the national news papers on November 5, 1984 as one who led the mobs against the Sikhs. So it was absolutely wrong for Capt Amarinder to say that Tytler's name came up only during Madan Lal Khurana's elections in New Delhi.Jarnail Singh said that on the issue of 1984, SAD-BJP alliance is hand in glove with Congress as the leaders of these parties shielded culprits collectively. He accused SAD leaders of Delhi for pressurizing the eye witnesses in the case to draw statements against Congress leaders.
Jarnail accused that SAD-BJP alliance government has stooped so low that the funds assigned for 1984 massacre were embezzled by its leaders. He demanded a CBI probe in the case.
Jarnail Singh challenged Capt. Amrinder Singh for a live debate on the issue of 1984 massacre. He said that Amrinder would never accept it as he knows that he is on the receiving end on the issue.Demanding apology from Capt. Amrinder Singh in Lok Sabha within 15 days, AAP Convener Gurpreet Waraich said that he must apologize for shielding the culprits within 15 days or AAP will decide gherao Captain with the victim families. Waraich said that AAP government in Delhi has provided financial help to the family but the battle will continue till the accused are punished. Accusing SAD he said that SAD never opposed the move of Narendra Modi government to jolt the SIT appointed by AAP Delhi government.Member of Parliament, Bhagwant Mann said that the incident of Godhra and other fake killings would have avoided by punishing those responsible for 1984 massacre. He said that SAD_BJP and Congress have always did ‘Politics of Hate’ to divide the people on religious lines. He termed Capt. Amrinder as ‘Mentally Bankrupt leader’ for asking people to forget the massacre of 1984.
Kanwar Sandhu said that it was a tough time not only for the Sikhs but all the Punjabis as after independence it was another incidence that friend were turned foe within hours.
He said that the politicians have always tried to get political mileage out of the incidence. He said that AAP stands by the victim families and will carry forward the struggle after consulting them.Sukhpal Khaira termed 1984 massacre a big blot on the history of mankind. He said that the Congress and BJP collectively hatched conspiracy of attack on Sri Harimandir Sahib as BJP leader Lal Krishan Adwani himself mention in his book that BJP and RSS forced Primr minister INdra Gandhi to send army troops to Punjab. He said that Captain is a traitor of Sikhs, rather than giving clean chits to murders to appease Congress high command, he must have raised the voice of victims.AAP leaders Yamini Gomar, Boota Singh Ashant, Dr. Balbir Singh, Sajjan Singh Cheema, Dalbir Dhillon, Brig. Raj Kumar, Nazar Manshahiya, Jassi Sekhon, Gurdit Sekhon, Anu Randhawa, Dev Mann, Sukhdeep Apra, Darshan Singh Dhillon and others were also present on the occasion.
