Punjab Government has decided to defer the payment of salary to workers through cheqes in bank accounts under section 6 of the Payment of wages Act, 1936 (Central Act 4 of 1936) till 31.10.2015.Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the government said that a meeting under the chairmanship of Mr.Chuni Lal Bhagat, Labour Minister Punjab was held today at Punjab Bhawan Chandigarh. Mr.Viswajeet Khanna, Principal Secretary, Labour and Mr.H.S.Nanda, Labour Commissioner, Punjab, Employers from various Industrial Associations also participated.He said that the representatives from industry discussed various problems being faced by them pertaining to labour and explained problems regarding this decision and it was decided to defer the decision till 31-10-2015.
