To give fillip to the Horticulture Sector in Valley and providing of every facility to the fruit growers, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon convened a joint meeting of concerned officers and fruit growers here today.The meeting was attended by the Director Horticulture Kashmir, Mr. P.K. Sharma, Sub Divisional Magistrate Sopore, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone, Superintending Engineer Power Development Department North, Executive Engineer R&B Sopore, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Baramulla, Deputy Director HPNC Srinagar, Deputy Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing Srinagar and representatives of fruit growers of Sopore.The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to ensure every possible facility to the fruit growers so that they could be able to preserve the fruits in cold storages.Dr. Samoon also directed officers to take steps for construction of cold storage and identify the land for this purpose.The fruit growers have also put forth their grievances before the Divisional Commissioner. The Divisional Commissioner assured them that their problems would be addressed on top priority basis.
