Punjab Construction Workers Welfare Board takes important decisions

Increases pension of registered beneficiaries to 20000 per annum

Punjab Construction Workers Welfare Board held it’s 14th meeting recently under the chairmanship of Labour Minister, Punjab, Chunni Lal Bhagat . In the meeting some important decisions were taken.Disclosing this, a spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that the pension given to the registered beneficiaries which earlier stood at minimum Rs. 4000 and maximum Rs. 10000 per annum, has now been increased to minimum Rs. 5000 and maximum Rs. 20000 per annum. Those beneficiaries, who earlier only once in 4 years used to get Rs. 2000 under LTC scheme, will  now be able to avail this facility after every 2 years and they can also avail this facility for the purpose of going to their hometown.The spokesperson further said that in the earlier period, in case of the death of a beneficiary or being totally disabled, the beneficiary or his family used to get Rs. 1 lakh amount. Now it has been increased to Rs. 2 lakh in case of accidental death and Rs. 1.50 lakh in case of natural death or total disability. Besides this, women beneficiaries will getRs. 5000 as maternity assistance upto the birth of 2 children.
