In a significant step to slash logistics costs and sharpen the state’s industrial competitiveness, the Punjab Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NICDC Logistics Data Services Limited (NLDSL) to integrate the state’s supply chain with the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP). Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister Mr. Aman Arora witnessed the signing of the MoU by Mr. Jaspreet Singh, Director of Industries & Commerce and Mr. Takayuki Kano, Chief Executive of NLDSL, here at Udyog Bhawan.

Administrative Secretary of Industries and Commerce Mr. Gurkirat Kirpal Singh was also present on the occasion. Mr. Aman Arora said that the agreement would enable real-time data sharing across multiple government systems and private logistics operators through a single interface.

An efficient logistics ecosystem is a critical enabler for industrial growth. This partnership will simplify business processes, improve freight movement by real-time visibility and directly benefit the exporters, MSMEs and transporters, he added.

Calling it a key step toward making Punjab a preferred investment destination, the Industries Minister said that the platform would help lower transaction costs and strengthen the state’s ease-of-doing-business credentials. The ULIP integration is expected to enhance coordination among government departments, logistics service providers and industry stakeholders, besides, improving supply chain visibility, reduce inefficiencies, and boost Punjab’s export competitiveness.

Mr. Aman Arora stated that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab government has been pursuing progressive reforms to build a modern, transparent and investor-friendly industrial ecosystem. The MoU with NLDSL is the latest in a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening logistics infrastructure and ensuring world-class support for industry and investors.

Terming the partnership a milestone in the state’s ongoing push for technology-driven governance and industrial facilitation, Mr Arora said the platform would enable evidence-based planning for infrastructure development and help identify critical bottlenecks in freight movement across North India.

Following the MoU, NLDSL conducted a technical workshop for officers of various state government departments, demonstrating three key solutions – the Logistics Data Bank for container visibility, Track Your Transport for real-time shipment tracking and a Transport Management System for fleet and freight optimisation.
