Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kulgam, Shazad Alam, visited Yaripora, today and presided over the Block Diwas public outreach programme. During the programme, the Deputy Commissioner conducted an interactive public grievance hearing, providing the local populace with an opportunity to present their issues, demands, and developmental concerns.
The grievances raised by the public mainly pertained to road connectivity, drinking water supply, electricity, healthcare facilities, education, sanitation, irrigation, revenue matters, and other civic amenities. The Deputy Commissioner heard each grievance patiently and directed the concerned departmental officers to address the issues promptly in accordance with the applicable rules and within the stipulated time frame.
Matters requiring immediate intervention were resolved on the spot, while the remaining issues were referred to the respective departments for necessary action and follow-up. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized responsive governance, transparency, accountability, and timely redressal of public grievances.
He instructed all officers to maintain close coordination with the local administration and ensure effective implementation of government welfare schemes and ongoing developmental projects. He also urged the public to actively participate in developmental initiatives and make optimum use of government schemes.
The Block Diwas programme was conducted smoothly and served as an effective platform for direct interaction between the district administration and the public. The visit strengthened public confidence in the administration and facilitated the identification and resolution of local issues through coordinated departmental action.
The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kulgam , Assistant Commissioner Development Kulgam, Exens, District and Sectoral officers, Tehsildar Yaripora, BDO Behibagh, EO, representatives of various government departments and a large number of local residents.
