To commemorate the 650th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji with devotion and to spread his philosophy and teachings to every household, the Punjab Government has launched a special documentary outreach project. Under this initiative, three documentary vans allocated for Amritsar district were flagged off today by Punjab Public Works Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO.

On the occasion, District Planning Committee Chairman Gurpartap Singh Sandhu, District Tourism Officer Sukhmandeep Singh, District Education Officer (Secondary) Kanwaljit Singh, Deputy DEO Rajesh Khanna, and representatives of the Sri Guru Ravidas community including Jagjit Singh Janki, Gurcharan, Ram, and Councillor Satnam Singh Saba were also present.

Speaking to the media, Cabinet Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO said that the Punjab Government has undertaken this special initiative to screen a documentary on the life, philosophy and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji in villages across the state.

He informed that three documentary vans have been allotted to Amritsar district. Each van is equipped with a 12 ft × 8 ft LED screen, on which a 30-minute documentary will be screened. He said the documentary is concise, meaningful and highly impactful, and will effectively convey the teachings and ideals of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji to the people.

The Cabinet Minister further informed that during the first 15 days, the vans will cover villages in the Jandiala Guru, Baba Bakala Sahib and Ajnala Assembly constituencies. Thereafter, every village in the district will be covered. He said the objective of the Punjab Government is to spread Sri Guru Ravidas Ji's message of social equality, communal harmony, truth, dignity of labour and humanity to every household.

He added that the documentary would serve as an important medium to connect the younger generation with the ideals of the great Guru and inspire them through his life and teachings.S. Harbhajan Singh ETO also stated that each van will cover two villages every day, with screenings scheduled between 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in two different villages.

He appealed to the residents of the district to attend the screenings in large numbers when the documentary vans visit their villages and take inspiration from the life, teachings and invaluable contribution of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji towards social reform. He added that such initiatives would further strengthen the values of brotherhood, equality and social harmony in society.
