Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh today reviewed the progress of the lift installation project at Mother Teresa Saket Orthopaedic Hospital, Panchkula, with Public Works Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa and directed that the work be completed at the earliest so that patients visiting the hospital, particularly persons with disabilities, senior citizens and their attendants can benefit from improved and more accessible facilities.

Sh. Ranbir Gangwa called on the Governor on a courtesy visit at Lok Bhavan, Chandigarh. During the meeting, various development-related projects in the State were discussed.

Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh emphasized that all public welfare projects should be executed on a priority basis and completed within stipulated timelines so that their benefits reach the people without delay. It may be recalled that the Governor had approved a grant of Rs. 1.5 crore for Mother Teresa Saket Orthopaedic Hospital, Panchkula, with the objective of strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving patient facilities. 

Out of the sanctioned amount, Rs. 1 crore will be utilized for the installation of a modern lift, while Rs. 50 lakh will be spent on the procurement of essential medical and other equipment for the hospital. During the meeting, the Governor also reviewed various developmental issues concerning the state. 

Discussing the drinking water supply system, he directed the Minister, who also holds the portfolio of the Public Health Engineering Department, to ensure further improvement in the availability and quality of drinking water across villages in Haryana. Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh also sought detailed information regarding the ongoing infrastructure development projects in the state and stressed the need for sustained efforts to strengthen public services and improve the quality of life of citizens.
