House to House visits by 24,453 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) commenced statewide today under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026. The enumeration phase, scheduled by the Election Commission of India (ECI), will continue from June 25 to July 24, 2026, reaching out to 2,14,61,043 voters across Punjab.

Leading by example on the first day of House to House enumeration, Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, filled her Enumeration Form along with her family, setting the tone for an accurate, inclusive, and updated electoral roll. She urged citizens to cooperate with BLOs visiting their homes to distribute and assist in filling the Enumeration Forms.

Ms. Mitra added that the first day concluded on a positive note, with Enumeration Forms being successfully distributed across the state. Citizens are requested to keep one recent colour photograph ready, fill the form, sign it, and hand it to the BLO, while retaining the second copy until completion of the SIR process.

The CEO assured voters not to panic in any situation. If a house is found locked, the BLO will slip the form under the door and paste a sticker on the wall with the date of the next visit. BLOs will make up to three visits to collect the form.

If the voter is not at home, any adult family member may sign the form, mention their relationship, and return it to the BLO. She further added that, for assistance, voters can use the ECINet Mobile App and avail the “Book a Call with your BLO” facility to connect directly with their BLO.

Electors may also submit duly filled Enumeration Forms online through the ECINet Mobile App or the Voters’ Service Portal, subject to verification by the BLO concerned. Previous SIR records can also be accessed through these platforms.

The process of rationalization of polling stations will continue until July 24, 2026, while the draft voter lists will be published on August 3, 2026. Claims and objections regarding voter lists can be submitted from August 3 to September 2, 2026, with disposal scheduled from August 3 to September 28, 2026.

The final voter list will be published on October 1, 2026. The Chief Electoral Officer emphasized that citizen cooperation is vital to ensure inclusive and accurate electoral rolls, thereby strengthening the democratic process in Punjab.
