Haryana School Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that the state government is working diligently to modernise technical education in line with emerging industry requirements and create new employment opportunities for young people. The government’s primary objective is to provide students with practical and high-quality technical knowledge so that they can compete effectively at the global level.

As part of this initiative, the government has procured 2,512 high-configuration computer systems for engineering and polytechnic institutions across the state. School Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda shared this information while chairing an important review meeting of senior officers of the Technical Education Department at the Haryana Civil Secretariat today.

The meeting reviewed the progress of various departmental projects and upcoming initiatives.

Distribution of Computer Systems Underway

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that out of the newly procured computer systems, 730 have already been distributed to five engineering and industrial training institutions, while the required number of computers has also been supplied to 36 Government Polytechnic Institutes and Polytechnic Education Committees across the state.

He directed officers to ensure the early distribution of the remaining 281 computer systems so that students’ academic activities and practical training continue without disruption.

Focus on Strengthening Infrastructure

The Education Minister emphasised that strengthening infrastructure remains a key priority in improving the quality of technical education. In addition to the computer systems, 51 modern civil engineering machines and equipment have been provided to nine Government Polytechnic Institutes across Haryana.

He said that these advanced machines will enable students to gain hands-on experience with modern technologies and industry practices, thereby enhancing their employability and acceptance in the industrial sector. Sh. Mahipal Dhanda directed officers to ensure that technical institutions are equipped with modern laboratories and practical training facilities, noting that theoretical knowledge alone is insufficient to meet the demands of today’s job market.

He said that the government’s goal is to provide employment opportunities to every capable young person and ensure that each individual can secure work according to their skills and qualifications. The ongoing modernisation of technical education institutions will continue in the future to help Haryana’s youth become more skilled, competitive and self-reliant, he added.

Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, Sh. A.K. Singh, Director General, Technical Education, Sh. Prabhjot Singh and other senior officers were present during the meeting.
