Haryana Cooperation, Jails, Elections and Tourism Minister, Dr. Arvind Sharma, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, India has achieved unprecedented progress in development, good governance and public welfare over the past 12 years. He said that by implementing Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s philosophy of Antyodaya in its true spirit, the government has successfully ensured that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last person in society.

Historic transformations have been witnessed in the fields of education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, women’s empowerment, digital technology and social security. To take the achievements of the government over the last 12 years to every citizen, a Special Public Outreach Programme was organised in Sonipat on Tuesday.

Dr. Arvind Sharma attended the event as the Chief Guest and inaugurated an exhibition organised by the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department showcasing the government’s achievements and welfare initiatives. While inspecting the exhibition and stalls set up by various departments, Dr. Sharma urged citizens to visit the exhibition, learn about government schemes and take full advantage of the benefits available to them.

Earlier, he planted a sapling in the Mini Secretariat premises under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, conveying a strong message on environmental conservation. He said that alongside building a Developed India, protecting the environment is a collective responsibility of all citizens.

Dr. Sharma said that over the last 12 years, the government under Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has translated the vision of service, good governance and welfare for the poor into reality, bringing positive changes in the lives of lakhs of poor families, farmers, women, youth, senior citizens, workers, traders and underprivileged communities.

He emphasized that the government’s objective is not merely development, but ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last person.

Unprecedented Growth in Education, Healthcare and Infrastructure

The Cooperation Minister highlighted that India has witnessed historic progress in education, healthcare, roads, railways, aviation and digital connectivity over the past 12 years. Modern road networks, expressways, new airports and railway projects have accelerated the pace of development across the country.

He said that the Jewar International Airport is poised to become a major growth hub for North India. He described the initiative of facilitating the first air travel experience for farmers whose land was acquired for the project as an example of the government’s sensitive and inclusive approach, reflecting its commitment to both development and farmers’ dignity.

Historic Decisions Strengthened the Nation

Dr. Sharma said that under Prime Minister’s leadership, landmark decisions such as the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A helped fully integrate Jammu & Kashmir with the national mainstream. He added that the construction of the grand Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the abolition of the practice of triple talaq, and the development of the Kartarpur Corridor have strengthened the country’s cultural and social unity.

These decisions, he said, have enhanced India’s global standing and established the nation as a strong and decisive force on the world stage.

India’s Global Prestige Has Increased

Dr. Sharma said India’s growing influence and stature on international platforms are a matter of pride for every citizen. He said that India has emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy and is steadily progressing towards becoming the third-largest.

Under Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has made remarkable strides toward self-reliance and is rapidly moving toward the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Welfare Schemes for Every Section of Society

He said that the Central and State Governments, working together under the “double-engine government” model, have implemented numerous schemes for every section of society. Various initiatives are being undertaken to empower women, increase farmers’ income, connect youth with employment and self-employment opportunities, and provide housing, healthcare and social security to the poor.

He also highlighted that several schemes, including Haryana Government’s Lado Lakshmi Yojana, are helping strengthen the economic position of women, with a large number of beneficiaries already receiving support.

Public Participation essential for building a Viksit Bharat

Dr. Sharma emphasised that the vision of a Viksit Bharat can only be realized through the active participation of every citizen and not by government efforts alone. Along with rights, citizens must also fulfil their responsibilities.

He urged people to learn about government schemes and help ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive their due benefits. He appealed to citizens to spread awareness about the government’s achievements and welfare initiatives among their families, friends and communities, and actively contribute toward strengthening the resolve of Viksit Bharat 2047.

A painting competition for school students was organized during the programme. The children enthusiastically participated and showcased their creativity through paintings depicting themes such as national development under Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s leadership, cleanliness, environmental conservation, Viksit Bharat and public welfare schemes.

Dr. Sharma visited the competition venue and encouraged the participants. Appreciating their artwork, he said such events not only nurture creativity but also instill awareness about nation-building and social responsibility among children.

At the conclusion of the programme, he felicitated the participants and wished them success in their future endeavours. MLA, Sh. Nikhil Madan said that over the last 12 years, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has provided the country with strong leadership, enabling rapid progress in economic development, social welfare and infrastructure.

He highlighted that welfare schemes introduced by the Central Government have benefited farmers, the poor, youth, women, traders and workers, ensuring that benefits reach even the last person. Notably, the historic development witnessed in Sonipat and the surrounding region, particularly in highways, expressways, railways, metro connectivity and air transport, which have significantly improved people’s lives.

Referring to farmer-friendly policies, he said Haryana is among the few states providing Minimum Support Price (MSP) on 24 crops. Municipal Corporation Mayor, Sh. Rajiv Jain said that the exhibition showcasing government achievements and welfare schemes was particularly important for the younger generation, many of whom have not seen the condition of India 12 years ago.

He emphasised the importance of informing youth about the positive transformation in the country and the rise in India’s global stature. He said that under the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s leadership, numerous welfare schemes have been implemented for farmers, women, youth, the poor and all sections of society, with benefits reaching eligible citizens directly.

This has strengthened public confidence in the policies and leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He urged attendees to spread awareness about government achievements and welfare programmes to every household.
