Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on Monday released the first edition of the departmental magazine ‘Jal Sanjeevani’ at Haryana Niwas. The magazine has been launched with the objective of effectively disseminating information regarding the schemes, achievements, and public welfare activities of the Public Health Engineering Department among the citizens of the state. 

Public Health Engineering Minister Sh. Ranbir Singh Gangwa, Industries & Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Education Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, and Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Sh. Shyam Singh Rana were also present on the occasion. Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that ‘Jal Sanjeevani’ is an important document reflecting the department’s functioning, achievements, and future plans. 

He stated that the publication will not only inform citizens about the department’s various public welfare initiatives but will also play a significant role in creating awareness about water conservation, water security, and sanitation. He described the magazine as an important step towards bringing the department’s public-oriented initiatives closer to the people and appreciated the department’s efforts.

The Chief Minister said that Haryana is today establishing a distinct identity as one of the leading states in the country in the fields of water management and rural drinking water supply. As a result of the state government's sustained efforts and the effective functioning of the Public Health Engineering Department, Haryana is steadily moving towards realizing the commitment of “Pure Water, Adequate Water.”

He added that the state government is fully committed to providing clean drinking water to every individual in line with the vision of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. Public Health Engineering Minister Sh. Ranbir Singh Gangwa said that the magazine presents a comprehensive account of the department’s work, innovations, and developmental initiatives in the areas of drinking water and sanitation. 

It includes major achievements related to providing clean and safe drinking water to the people of the state under the Jal Jeevan Mission and other schemes, expansion of water supply coverage, effective utilization of budgetary resources, and infrastructure development. He further informed that the magazine contains detailed information on water quality management, modern water testing laboratory facilities, and services being provided to citizens. 

It also prominently highlights the functioning of the state's advanced water treatment plants and sewage treatment plants, best practices adopted by the department, technological innovations, and special efforts being undertaken in the fields of water conservation and sanitation. Sh. Gangwa said that the magazine also showcases activities conducted with community participation, inspection and public interaction programmes held in various regions, training and capacity-building initiatives, and the transparency and efficiency brought about through digital systems such as the Haryana Engineering Works Portal. 

He added that the department has further strengthened its grievance redressal mechanism to ensure prompt resolution of citizens’ issues. Through the centralized grievance redressal system, complaints are being resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner, thereby further strengthening public confidence in departmental services.

Sh. Gangwa stated that Haryana has achieved remarkable success in the fields of water security and sustainable development by ensuring clean and safe drinking water to every rural household, conserving water resources, adopting modern technologies, and encouraging community participation. The ‘Jal Sanjeevani’ magazine reflects these efforts, innovations, and achievements, presenting Haryana as a strong, progressive, and inspiring state in the fields of water management and sanitation.

On this occasion, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Deputy Principal Secretary Sh. Yashpal Yadav, Chief Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department Sh. Devender Dahiya, Director of the Water and Sanitation Support Organization Dr. Jaswant Singh, and other officers were also present.
