Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema held meetings on Wednesday with the representatives of the Gram Panchayat Jal Supply Pump Operators Association, the MGNREGA Karamchari Union, and the Zameen Prapti Sangharsh Committee to resolve their issues and concerns.

Emphasising the Bhagwant Mann Government’s commitment to workers and employees, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said, “The CM Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government is deeply committed to the welfare of our workforce, labourers and marginalised communities. No valid concern will be left unaddressed.”

Reviewing the memorandums and grievances submitted by union representatives, Minister Harpal Singh Cheema listened to their concerns regarding workplace challenges, systemic issues and financial distress. Following detailed discussions, he directed the concerned departments to process, evaluate and implement all legitimate demands within a stipulated timeframe.

The administrative officers of the concerned departments present at the meeting assured the Finance Minister that file clearances and inter-departmental evaluations regarding these matters would begin immediately to ensure swift action.

Beant Singh, Avtar Singh, Bohar Singh from the Gram Panchayat Jal Supply Pump Operators Association, Gursewak Singh, Harminder Singh, Amandeep Mansa from the MGNREGA Karamchari Union, and Mukesh Malod and Dharamvir Harigarh from the Zameen Prapti Sangharsh Committee presented their case during the meetings.
