As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Project Swasth Samaj, Vardhman Special Steels Limited (VSSL) today extended financial assistance of ₹10 lakh for providing artificial limbs to economically disadvantaged individuals and donated 20 wheelchairs to the Red Cross Society for the benefit of persons with disabilities.

The cheque and wheelchairs were formally handed over by Mr. Himanshu Jain, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, and Mr. Amit Dhawan, CSR Head, Vardhman Special Steels Limited, to the Bharat Vikas Parishad Charitable Trust in the presence of representatives from the District Administration, Red Cross Society, and the Trust.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Himanshu Jain, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, appreciated the commitment of Vardhman Special Steels Limited towards social welfare and thanked the management, particularly Mr. Sachit Jain, Chairman, VSSL, and Ms. Soumya Jain, Executive Director, VSSL, for their continued support to initiatives aimed at improving the lives of underprivileged and differently-abled individuals.

Sharing details of the initiative, Mr. Amit Dhawan, CSR Head, VSSL, stated that the company remains committed to supporting healthcare and rehabilitation efforts in the community. He informed that VSSL has been facilitating the provision of artificial limbs to approximately 3,500 beneficiaries every year and has been successfully carrying out this initiative for the past four years.Mr. Joshi, Secretary, Red Cross Society, Ludhiana, expressed his gratitude to the CSR team of VSSL and especially to Mr. Amit Dhawan for his dedication and commitment towards healthcare initiatives for the needy.

He also acknowledged the strong partnership between VSSL, the Red Cross Society, and the District Administration in advancing welfare programs for vulnerable sections of society.The initiative reflects Vardhman Special Steels Limited’s ongoing commitment to creating a healthier, more inclusive society through impactful CSR interventions focused on healthcare, rehabilitation, and community welfare.
