Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Punjab, marked a significant milestone in its mission to provide world-class oncology care today with the inauguration of state-of-the-art medical equipment. The advanced CT Scan and Bi-Plane DSA machines were officially handed over and commissioned through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Schedule 'A', 'Maharatna' Public Sector Enterprise of the Government of India.

The ceremony was chaired by Dr. Ashish Gulia, Director of HBCH&RC, Punjab, and attended by Independent Directors Shri Shiv Tapasya Paswan, Smt. Sajal Jha, and Shri Rohit Vaswani of POWERGRID. The addition of these high-end diagnostic and interventional tools represents a major leap in the hospital's ability to provide precise imaging and minimally invasive vascular procedures for cancer patients in the region.

Speaking on the impact of this collaboration, Dr. Ashish Gulia, Director, HBCH&RC, Punjab, stated, "The integration of this cutting-edge technology into our clinical workflow is a transformative step for patient care in Punjab. These machines do more than just provide better images; they allow for earlier detection and highly complex interventional procedures that save lives.

We are deeply grateful to POWERGRID for their commitment to public health, which empowers us to deliver faster, more accurate treatment to those who need it most." He further said, "Now, with a total capacity of 450 beds, Tata Memorial Centre Punjab is one of the largest tertiary public cancer care centers in the entire North India region, dedicated to providing global-standard cancer care to patients' doorsteps irrespective of their socioeconomic status."

Senior Officials of POWERGRID, commended the efforts of the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Punjab, in providing treatment and medical assistance to cancer patients in the region and expressed hope that the hospital would continue to serve the community with the same energy and dedication.

The event concluded with a formal tour of the new facilities, highlighting how the partnership between public sector leaders and healthcare institutions can significantly strengthen the nation's medical infrastructure.
