The Nagar Kirtan, which commenced from Talwandi Sabo in commemoration of the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, reached Sangrur district via Badbar, where it received an enthusiastic and spiritually charged welcome. Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora and Member of Parliament from Sangrur Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, along with a large gathering of devotees, warmly received the sacred procession.
Paying obeisance to the Palki Sahib and honouring the Panj Piaras, Aman Arora said that commemorating the 350th Martyrdom Day of the Ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, is a historic and spiritually significant moment for everyone. He emphasized that the Punjab Government is observing this sacred occasion with utmost devotion, humility, reverence, and in strict adherence to Gurmat Maryada.
He added that the Almighty has blessed the State Government with the honour of serving in this sacred endeavour, and the government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that all arrangements reflect the highest dignity. He urged people to follow the path shown by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, who sacrificed His life to uphold human rights and protect religious freedom.
The Cabinet Minister appealed to devotees to participate in large numbers in the commemorative events scheduled at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25. He informed that a “Tent City” named Chakk Nanaki has been specially set up to accommodate the large influx of pilgrims arriving with devotion.
It is noteworthy that the Nagar Kirtan, moving under the divine presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the leadership of the Panj Piaras, will halt tonight at Gurdwara Sri Mastuana Sahib. On November 21, it will resume at 8:00 a.m. and travel through Police Lines Sangrur, Barnala Kanchian, Poonia Tower, Nankiana Chowk, Yadvindra Dreams Hotel Chowk, Verka Milk Plant, and Bhawanigarh Kanchian. The procession will then take a U-turn from Sangrur, proceed via Balwar Kalan, Gharachon, and Bhawanigarh, and enter Channo village, from where it will move through Patiala and SAS Nagar districts before concluding at Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22.
A large number of devotees are participating in this spiritually uplifting Nagar Kirtan. For the convenience of the accompanying sangat, the procession includes ambulances, a digital museum, langar facilities, and other essential arrangements.
