In line with the vision to digitize and simplify the certification process for the Indian film industry, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is pleased to announce that the Multilingual Module has now been deployed and made live on the E-Cinepramaan portal. This optional feature, introduced in addition to the existing process, aims to streamline and simplify certification for films intended for release in multiple Indian languages.

This new facility enables applicants to submit films in various languages through a single, unified application. Each film certified under this module will receive a Multilingual Certificate, clearly specifying all languages in which the film is certified.

The Multilingual Film Certification initiative seeks to make the certification process more convenient for multi-language releases, in view of the growing trend of pan-India cinema. It offers filmmakers a unified mechanism to cater to diverse linguistic audiences across the country.

Key features of the Multilingual Film Certification include:

• Submission of a single application through the E-Cinepramaan Portal for all language versions simultaneously.

• Issuance of one certificate granting multilingual status, listing all certified languages.

• Processing of the application by a single Regional Office.

The Central Board of Film Certification remains committed to promoting transparency, efficiency, and ease of access in the film certification process, keeping pace with the evolving needs of the film industry.
