As a part of ongoing Sewa Parv-2025 celebrations, Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo today led “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam", “Ek Ped Shaheed Ke Naam” campaign by planting Conifer Saplings at DC Office premises, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from senior Officers including Additional District Development Commissioner, Rifat Aftab Qureshi; Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Aadil Fareed; Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar; SDM East, Zubair Ahmad; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar; DFO Urban Forestry, Dr Mehraj and other officials of the DC Office Srinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized that plantation drives are not merely symbolic gestures but powerful contributions to safeguarding the environment for future generations. He said "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam", "Ek Ped Shaheed Ke Naam" is not just a campaign, it is a movement that inspires us to reconnect with our roots and fulfil our responsibility towards nature.

The DC added that the campaign aims to encourage citizens to plant trees in honour of their mothers and Martyrs of the nation by promoting both environmental consciousness, emotional resonance with nature and deep gratitude for their sacrifices.
