District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the progress under Adi Karamayogi Abhiyan. The meeting was held in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.

The Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan- a national programme of Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs aimed at empowering tribal population, is being implemented in 58 tribal populated villages of the District Poonch.

The DDC asked the concerned officers to devise a comprehensive plan for each village to fill the existing infrastructural gaps. “These plans, which must be approved by the respective Village Gram Sabhas, are to be submitted to the DC office no later than September 30, 2025.

This will ensure timely submission of the plans to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs,” the Deputy Commissioner said. The DDC further discussed the ongoing implementation of the Abhiyan with district officers, stressing the importance of educating villagers about the initiative through master trainers.

He emphasized that the developmental initiatives of the government including improved road connectivity, better schools, playgrounds, electricity, water supply and other vital infrastructure should be clearly communicated to the villagers.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Pankaj Magotra; PO ICDS, Khalid Hussain Wafa; ACP, DDE, Chief Education officer, Chief Medical Officer and other concerned officers.
