Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress and implementation status of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Rural and Urban areas of the district.

The meeting, held in the conference hall of the DC Office Complex was attended by ADDC Surinder Mohan Sharma; ACD Akhil Sadotra; CEO Municipal Council Amit Sharma; Executive Officers of Urban Local Bodies, BDOs, and representatives from the Rural Development Department and Housing for All Mission.

The Deputy Commissioner took a sector and the block wise review of achievements under PMAY-Gramin and PMAY-Urban and stressed on timely completion of pending housing units and prompt disbursal of financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries.

Highlighting the goal of Housing for All under the PMAY initiative, the DC directed officers to expedite identification and verification of beneficiaries to ensure no deserving family is left out. He also emphasized on achieving 100% Aadhaar seeding of all beneficiaries within two months to eliminate any possibility of duplication.

The DC assured full support to executing agencies and urged coordinated efforts to achieve saturation under PMAY in the district.
