District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda Harvinder Singh today chaired a review meeting in the Conference Hall DC office complex to assess the progress under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain 2025 campaign.

The meeting aimed to evaluate key initiatives being implemented across the district in alignment with the campaign’s theme, “Catch the Rain – Where it Falls, When it Falls.” The review centered on evaluating the district’s preparedness and progress in implementing rainwater harvesting systems, promoting sustainable water use, and ensuring active community participation in line with the national water conservation mandate.

The DDC Doda reviewed the functionality of rainwater harvesting structures, the status of water conservation measures in both rural and urban areas, and the level of departmental convergence among Forest, Agriculture, Education, and Rural Development sectors.

The meeting also took stock of awareness and sensitization campaigns conducted in schools and local communities, along with progress made under related schemes such as IWMP, Poshan Abhiyaan, and other integrated programs.

Emphasizing the need for collective responsibility and time-bound implementation, DDC Doda called for stronger inter-departmental coordination and proactive community engagement to ensure the successful realization of campaign objectives at the grassroots level.

The meeting was attended by the ADDC, SE Jal Shakti (Hydraulics), Chief Planning Officer, ACD, ACP, CAO, CEO, Principal GDC Doda, Executive Officers of the Municipal Committees of Doda, Bhaderwah and Thathri, XENs from Jal Shakti, I&FC Bhaderwah and Hydraulic Doda, along with concerned BDOs, AEs, JEs and officials from various stakeholder departments.
