Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma shared detailed insights into the preparations for the upcoming 11th International Yoga Day, set to be celebrated on June 21, 2025 at the iconic Chogan Grounds in Kishtwar Town.

Addressing a press conference here today, the DC informed that all government departments have joined hands to organize a meaningful and large-scale event to highlight the true essence of Yoga.

“Yoga is not just a practice for physical wellness; it is a holistic sadhana where the mind, body, and intellect come into alignment,” said the DC. He emphasized that the benefits of Yoga extend beyond fitness and play a vital role in mental and emotional well-being.

Through the press, he extended a warm invitation to all residents of Kishtwar to participate in the celebration, which will begin at 6:00 AM sharp on Chogan Grounds. In addition, he touched upon the district’s proactive efforts under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

He stated that coordinated efforts are being made with police and all administrative departments to curb substance abuse. “The institutional mechanisms are fully activated to ensure complete eradication of drug addiction in the region,” he stated.
