The highly anticipated T-20 knock-out Cricket Tournament organized by pulwama police under the civic action programme commenced today with a spectacular opening ceremony held at Sports Stadium Rajpora and marked the beginning of an exhilarating cricket extravaganza in the region.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of SSP Pulwama, MS. P.D. Nitya-IPS in the company of ASP Pulwama,and several other esteemed officers from the district.The tournament will be conducted in a knockout format, with 32 teams from various areas of the Rajpora-belt participating.
The opening match featured a face-off between Royal CC Rajpora and Ruma Reshi CC Rahmoo.SSP Pulwama in her address congratulated the participating teams and other participants for their enthusiastic participation in the tournament and highlighted J&K Police's dedication in providing young people with platforms for their interests, particularly in sports.
She urged the youth of district pulwama to stay away from social crimes, violence, drugs etc. and advised them to make use of their energy in positive direction. Further, she said Such events spread positivity in the society, which is much needed in present circumstances.
