The Municipal Council Doda, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, organized a mega awareness event at Community Hall Doda under the themes "Mera Shehar, Meri Pehchan", "Nasha Mukt Abhiyan", and "No to Drugs, Yes to Life".

The event focused on waste management and the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, featuring a series of “Waste to Wonder” competitions that encouraged students to creatively reuse waste materials.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh graced the occasion as the chief guest. The program was attended by Dy.SP Dar Adil Rishu; DSWO   Nodal officer EIC Campaign Tariq Qazi; EO MC Yasir Wani; DIO  Ravi Kumar, other officers and a large number of students from various schools.

The DC inspected innovative stalls set up by school students, showcasing products made from recyclable waste. A pledge ceremony was also held to spread awareness against drug abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among the youth.

A vibrant cultural program was presented by students, promoting social messages through music and dance. In his address, the DC appreciated the initiative and highlighted the district’s efforts under the 'EIC Campaign' to combat drug abuse.

He urged the youth to actively participate in constructive activities and emphasized the intelligent reuse of waste to create valuable items. He further mentioned the district recent achievement of distributing 5,000 school desks made from recycled waste material, terming it as a key milestone under the Waste to Wonder initiative.

The DC commended the creativity and enthusiasm of the students and called for community-wide efforts to achieve a clean, healthy, and drug-free Doda.
