Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh today inaugurated the Haj Pilgrims Vaccination Camp 2025 at Associated Hospital Government Medical College Doda. The camp was organised as part of the district-level preparations to ensure the health and safety of the pilgrims before their departure for Haj.

The programme was held under the overall supervision of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Om Kumar, who was also present at the event. A total of 82 Haj pilgrims were vaccinated at various designated centres across the district.

These included 39 pilgrims at AH GMC Doda, 17 at SDH Bhaderwah  and 26 at SDH Gandoh. Similar vaccination programmes were also conducted at SDH Bhaderwah and SDH Gandoh, where the registered Haj pilgrims were given the required vaccinations as per protocol.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Om Kumar, while giving details, said that different vaccines including OPV (Oral Polio Vaccine), QMMV (Quadrivalent Meningococcal Meningitis Vaccine), and SIV (Seasonal Influenza Vaccine) were administered to the Hajis for protection against various communicable diseases during the pilgrimage.

While interacting with the pilgrims, DC Harvinder Singh extended his best wishes for a safe and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage. He also appreciated the efforts of the Health Department in organizing the vaccination drive smoothly and efficiently.

Among others, Incharge Medical Superintendent AH GMC Doda, Tehsildar Doda, and staff of GMC Doda including CMO and Deputy CMO Doda were also present on the occasion. The event marked a crucial step in ensuring that all Haj pilgrims from the district are medically fit and well-prepared for the journey.
