Senior BJP leader and MLA Jammu East, Yudhvir Sethi along with Jammu Chamber President Arun Gupta and Mahant Rajesh Bittu today inaugurated the grand Baisakhi Mela at Canal Road, Jammu amidst a vibrant and festive atmosphere. 

The event, organized to mark the harvest festival of Baisakhi, drew huge participation from locals and visitors alike, turning the venue into a colourful celebration of culture, tradition, and community bonding.

On the occasion, Priya Sethi, senior BJP leader and former Minister, CCI office bearers namely Anil Gupta, Rajeev Gupta, Rajesh Gupta and Rinku; Ex-Corperator Anil Gupta, members of Mela Committee, Vishal Malhatra, Parvez Malik, Kaztar Chand, Suraj Sharma, Vinod Gupta, Rajesh Dogra, Sawarn Singh, Sunil Gupta and Vinay Basan were present.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the mela, Yudhvir Sethi extended warm Baisakhi greetings to the people and emphasized the importance of preserving and celebrating our rich cultural heritage. 

He said that festivals like Baisakhi are not only integral to our traditions but also play a vital role in bringing communities together, promoting unity, and spreading joy. "This Mela is a true reflection of the vibrant spirit of Jammu and its people. 

It provides a platform for our artisans, local vendors, and performers to showcase their talent and heritage," said Sethi. He appreciated the efforts of the organizers for putting together a wonderful event and ensuring representation of local crafts, cuisines, and folk art.

The Mela featured various stalls offering traditional Punjabi and Dogri food, handicrafts, and games, while the cultural stage was lit up with energetic folk dance and music performances by local artists. 

Children and elders alike participated in fun-filled activities, adding to the cheerful ambience of the festival. Yudhvir Sethi further stated that the BJP remains committed to promoting cultural events across Jammu and Kashmir, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. 

He reaffirmed that such festivals not only enrich the social fabric but also provide economic opportunities to local entrepreneurs and artists. The event was attended by a large number of people including party workers, local leaders, civil society members, and tourists.
