War Against Drugs ; Commissionerate Police conducts search operation at 11 places in the city

In the war against drugs launched by the Punjab Government, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police under the leadership of Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur, today conducted a large-scale search operation at 11 hotspots falling in the Commissionerate.

Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur, who personally led this operation at the local Bhargo Camp, said that the search operation has been conducted by the ACP rank officers by deploying sufficient police force at 11 different sensitive places under the Commissionerate. She said that during this operation, such places in the city where complaints of drug sale were received were checked thoroughly.

This special operation led to the registration of 11 FIRs at PS Division No.5. PS Basti Bawa Khel, PS Bhargo Camp, PS Cantt, PS Sadar, PS Division No.6 and PS Rama Mandi and the arrest of 11 individuals involved in illegal drug activities. The operation also resulted in the recovery of a significant quantity of narcotics and drug money. 

During the operation, the police seized 98.81 grams of Heroin, 300 Intoxicant Tablets, 1 kilogram of Poppy Husk, and ₹3,900 Drug Money.She said that the aim of this campaign is to eradicate drugs from the city, under which the Commissionerate Police is focusing on breaking the supply chain of drugs by stopping street peddling.

Reiterating the commitment of the Punjab Government to eradicate the menace of drugs, the Police Commissioner said that along with eradicating drugs, the Commissionerate Police is determined to free the society from this evil and no stone will be left unturned in this task. Giving a stern warning to those involved in the drug trade, the Police Commissioner said that this campaign will continue in the coming days and strictest action will be taken against the drug peddlers.

She also appealed to the common people to cooperate in the campaign 'War Against Drugs' launched by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, so that drugs can be eradicated completely from Punjab. She appealed that if people see any drug selling activity around, they should immediately inform the police. She said that the identity of the person providing the information will be kept confidential.
