In a sweeping crackdown on drug trafficking, the Jalandhar Rural Police today launched a massive operation targeting eleven identified drug hotspots across the district. The operation, "Yudh Nashe De Virudh" (War Against Drugs), was conducted under the direct supervision of SP and DSP-rank officers across all sub-divisions of Jalandhar Rural.

Speaking to the media, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh stated that the extensive combing operation reflects the department's zero-tolerance policy towards drug smuggling in the region. "There will be no place to hide for drug smugglers in Jalandhar Rural jurisdiction," SSP Khakh emphasized.

Multiple police teams were deployed simultaneously at dawn to ensure maximum effectiveness and prevent suspects from escaping. The operation involved thorough searches, verification activities, and surveillance measures.DSP officers also visited OAAT centers throughout the district, interacting with drug addicts to motivate them to abandon substance abuse and reintegrate into mainstream society.

During these visits, officers gathered valuable intelligence about drug smuggling operations in the area.A comprehensive report detailing the recoveries made during the operation will be released by the police later this evening.

This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by CM Punjab government’s  Bhagwant Maan and DGP Punjab Police Gaurav Yadav IPS to combat the drug menace in the state and dismantle trafficking networks operating in rural areas.
