Haryana State Election Commissioner Sh. Dhanpat Singh said voting for the elections to be held in 7 Municipal Corporations, 4 Municipal Councils and 21 Municipalities in the urban local body elections in the state will be held on March 2. Also, voting for by-elections for the post of Mayor in two Municipal Corporations, President in one Municipal Council, President in two Municipalities and Ward Member in the wards of three Municipal Councils will also be held on March 2. 

Apart from this, the date of voting for the election of Mayor and members of all wards in Municipal Corporation-Panipat will be March 9. The State Election Commissioner said for the election of Mayor and ward members in 7 Municipal Corporations (Faridabad, Gurugram, Manesar, Hisar, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak and Yamunanagar), two separate Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be installed at each polling centre.

He said in the by-elections for the post of Mayor in two Municipal Corporations (Ambala and Sonipat), for the post of President in one Municipal Council (Sohna), for the post of President in 2 Municipalities (Asandh and Imamabad) and for the post of ward members in the wards of 3 Municipalities (Safidon, Taraori and Ladwa), voting will be conducted through only one EVM machine in each polling centre.

He said voting for President and ward members in 4 Municipal Councils (Ambala Sadar, Pataudi-Jatauli Mandi, Thanesar and Sirsa), and for President and ward members in 21 Municipal Corporations (Barada, Bawani Khera, Loharu, Siwani, Jakhal Mandi, Farrukh Nagar, Narnaund, Beri, Julana, Kalayat, Siwan, Pundri, Indri, Nilokheri, Ateli Mandi, Kanina, Tawadu, Hathin, Kalanaur, Kharkhoda and Radaur), will be conducted through 2 separate EVMs in each polling station. He informed that in the by-elections for the post of Mayor in Municipal Corporation (Ambala and Sonipat), for the post of President in Municipal Council-Sohna, for the post of President in Municpality of Asandh and Ismailabad and for the post of Ward Member in Municpalities (Ward No. 14 of Safidon, Ward No. 5 of Tarawadi and Ward No. 11 of Ladwa), voting will be conducted through only one EVM in one polling station. 

He further informed that for the election for Panipat Municipal Corporation election, 2 EVMs will be installed in each polling station for the post of Mayor and ward members.
