Haryana State Election Commissioner Sh. Dhanpat Singh appealed to citizens to vote in large numbers in the urban local body elections to be held on March 2. Only those people will be able to exercise their voting rights whose name is included in the voter list of the concerned Municipal Corporation/ Municipal Council or Municipality. State Election Commissioner Sh. Dhanpat Singh said if the voters do not have voter card, they can also vote by showing alternative identity cards. 

Such voters can cast their vote by showing passport, driving licence, PAN card, service identity card issued to employees by central and state government offices, public sector undertakings, local bodies or other public sector undertakings, photo identity card issued by bank or post office, freedom fighter photo identity card, SC, ST, OBC certificate with photo issued by competent authority, physical disability certificate with photo issued by competent authority, arms licence with photo, MGNREGA card, property documents with photo, pension documents like pension book, pension payment order, ex-widow dependent certificate, old age pension order, widow pension order with photo, health insurance scheme smart card with photo, ration card and Aadhaar card issued by UIDAI.
