The Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt of India is hosting Chintan Shivir during January 10–12, 2025 in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The event was inaugurated by Smt. Annpurna Devi, Minister for Women and Child Development, Government of India Today in the presence of Minister of State for Women and Child Development Smt. Savitri Thakur, Chief Minister of Rajasthan Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister and Women and Child Development Minister of Rajasthan Smt. Diya Kumari. Union Ministers, State Ministers and senior officers from Centre and States are participating in the MoWCD’s Chintan Shivir.

In her inaugural address, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smt Annpurna Devi said that as India led the G20 presidency, we shifted the global focus from ‘women's development’ to ‘women-led development’, a vision that Brazil has strongly supported during its Presidency in 2024.

Delivering a Special Address, Smt. Savitri Thakur, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing initiatives. She said that our efforts in empowering women and ensuring child welfare are bearing fruit. 

Through collaborative discussions and shared experiences at this Shivir, we aim to scale up successful practices for maximum impact. The Keynote Address was delivered by Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, who expressed his pride in hosting this transformative event. 

He said that the Rajasthan is honored to host the Chintan Shivir, a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration. We are committed to supporting national initiatives and ensuring the welfare of women and children in our state.

Smt. Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Women and Child Development, Rajasthan, also addressed the gathering, sharing insights on Rajasthan’s efforts in the sector. She said that Rajasthan has always prioritized the welfare of women and children. 

The Shivir provides a valuable opportunity to learn from each other’s successes and build a brighter future together. The Chintan Shivir will feature engaging sessions on key initiatives, including Mission Shakti, Mission Vatsalya, and Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, focusing on themes such as women’s safety, child nutrition, and strengthening Anganwadi Centres. 

Presentations of best practices from States and Union Territories are expected to be showcased, aimed at developing innovative solutions to pressing issues and fostering an exchange of ideas to drive scalable outcomes.

The Chintan Shivir is focused on underscoring the Government’s unwavering dedication to building a strong foundation for a Viksit Bharat in the years ahead. Intensive deliberations and free-flowing discussions are expected to further fine-tune government initiatives by incorporating best practices and innovative approaches. 

The Chintan Shivir is envisaged to bring together key stakeholders on a single platform for their experience sharing and learning from best practices across the country for accelerating welfare of women and children.
