Senior IAS officer of the 2004 batch, Mr. Arun Sekhri, today assumed charge as the Divisional Commissioner of Jalandhar. Upon his arrival at the Commissioner’s Office in Jalandhar, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal welcomed him with a bouquet. On this occasion, the a contingent of district police also presented him with a Guard of Honour.

After assuming charge, Divisional Commissioner Mr. Arun Sekhri stated that his primary priority would be to ensure efficient administration and timely delivery of administrative services to the public. He also held discussions with Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal to gain insights about the district.

He further reviewed the preparations and arrangements for the oath-taking ceremony of Municipal Councillors scheduled for Saturday. Following this, the Divisional Commissioner also visited the Red Cross Bhawan, wherein the arrangements for the January 11 councillors' oath-taking ceremony were underway. He emphasized that there should be no shortcomings in the arrangements and directed the officials to ensure foolproof security measures.

Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Commissioner Jalandhar Municipal Corporation Gautam Jain, Assistant Commissioner Sunil Phogat, Joint Police Commissioner Sandeep Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Major Dr. Amit Mahajan, along with other officials.
