In order to finalize the action plan for re-verification process of beneficiaries listed in the Public Distribution System (PDS) database in the District, a meeting of District Level Committee was Wednesday held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat here in his office chamber.

During the meeting, the DC asked the officers to expedite the re-verification process for all beneficiaries, particularly those under the AAY and PHH categories. He stressed the officers to conduct a detailed review of current income status of the beneficiaries to ensure the transparent PDS database.

On the occasion, the DC also directed the Officers to ensure 100% completion of e-KYC for all beneficiaries and to incorporate any eligible beneficiaries who may have been left out from the system. The DC also directed the formation of Sub Committees at the Village and Ward levels which will conduct general surveys to streamline and update the database in stipulated time. 

Notably, the District Level Committee has been formed by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir to oversee the verification of beneficiaries enrolled under the Public Distribution System (PDS) database. 

As per Government order the Committee will be responsible for verifying the eligibility of beneficiaries, identifying and including any left-out eligible individuals, and completing the e-KYC process for pending beneficiaries.

The District Level Committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner, with the Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Assistant Commissioner (Development), District Social Welfare Officer, and Assistant Director (FCS&CA) as members is tasked with verifying the eligibility of all beneficiaries enrolled in the Public Distribution System (PDS) database, in accordance with the applicable rules, and ensuring the removal of ineligible beneficiaries.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Ahmad Kataria, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Director FCS&CA, Tehsildar Headquarters and other concerned.
