Sh Nazir Ahmad Khan, Chairman, District Development Council Budgam, called on Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, today. The DDC Chairman submitted a memorandum of demands to Lieutenant Governor highlighting key development issues of Budgam district including stoppage of the Vande Bharat train at Budgam railway station.

He requested that the stoppage of Vande Bharat train would provide a much-needed boost to the district’s economy by improving connectivity and attracting more tourists to renowned destinations such as Doodhpathri, Yusmarg, Tosamaidan, and the revered Charar-e-Sharief shrine.

Sh Nazir Ahmad Khan also extended gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for his continued support in developmental projects in Budgam, particularly the construction of bridges over Nalla Sukhnag in the Beerwah constituency, which has been a long-pending demand of the local population.

The Lieutenant Governor assured the DDC Chairman that appropriate action will be taken to address the issues projected by him during the interaction.
