CGC hosted the seventh edition of Smart India Hackathon 2024

144 competitors from 24 teams fought a challenging technical battle in 36 hours

The seventh edition of Smart India Hackathon 2024 was hosted by Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, the competition featured 17 different themes, with 144 participants from 24 teams from colleges and universities across Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar and Gujarat competing in a challenging 36-hour technical battle.

The teams competed fiercely to solve five well-crafted real-world problem statements at CGC Mohali.The challenges were designed to test the creativity, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills of the participants, especially in the field of software development.

It is worth mentioning that the Smart India Hackathon, organized at 51 centers across the country, is a nationwide initiative that provides a national platform for students to solve various complex problems. 

During this, students from diverse backgrounds worked collaboratively under immense pressure, coding, debugging, and continuously innovating.The hackathon concluded with an exciting finale where the teams with the best performances were declared the winners. 

In which the Cyber Wardens team won brilliantly with problem PN 1664, Bengal Tigers Apex team won with problem SIH 1742. While team Error 404 solved problem SIH 1667, Liner Depression solved problem SIH 1666 in an excellent manner. All these teams were awarded with prize money of Rs. 1 lakh each.

CGC President Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal appreciated the importance of such platforms in fostering the creativity and technological excellence of the youth, further reinforcing the importance of such initiatives in nurturing the next generation of India’s tech leaders.

Arsh Dhaliwal, MD CGC Jhanjeri emphasized on the transformative role of hackathons in shaping the future of software development and the pivotal role of innovation in driving technological advancement.
