Haryana Chief MinisterNayb Singh Saini said that the Ratnavali Mahotsav at Kurukshetra University serves as a remarkable platform to connect the younger generation with the songs, music, art, and culture of the state. He highlighted that Haryana has long been a significant hub of eternal knowledge, prosperity, and warrior valor, with evidence of its cultural richness tracing back to the Vedic period.

Ratnavali Mahotsav plays a crucial role in preserving the culture and traditions rooted in this ancient era. He further said that the festival holds great importance in Haryana’s cultural development journey, nurturing the state's heritage and ensuring it is passed on to future generations.

The Chief Minister was speaking at the four-day state-level Ratnavali Mahotsav at the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Earlier he, along with former minister Mr. Subhash Sudha and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Somnath Sachdeva, visited the craft fair associated with the festival.

While congratulating and extending his best wishes to the people of the state on all festivals, including Deepawali, the Chief Minister said that Kurukshetra University is among the leading universities in the country across various domains, including knowledge, science, research, skill development, sports, art, and culture. Few universities in India are actively working to preserve their regional and national culture alongside academic education.

The Ratnavali Mahotsav is a unique initiative aimed at safeguarding Haryana's cultural heritage. This festival has been hosted at the university for the past 37 years, serving as a remarkable platform to connect the younger generation with the state’s songs, music, art, and culture. The festival plays a pivotal role in the cultural development journey of Haryana, with new efforts being made each year to engage more youth in its celebrations.

The Chief Minister said that the Ratnavali Mahotsav is contributing significantly to reviving Haryanvi folk culture and fostering a sense of pride among young students in their rich heritage. It offers a vibrant confluence of literature, music, and art.

Over 3000 students are showing their talent in 34 disciplines

On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, Prof. Somnath Sachdeva, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister and other dignitaries. He said that the Ratnavali Mahotsav began in 1985 with 8 disciplines and 300 artists. Today, over 3,000 students are showcasing their talents across 34 disciplines on the festival’s stage.

He said that the university is progressing with the vision of making students self-reliant and self-sufficient. Kurukshetra University holds the distinction of being the first government university in the state to receive an A++ grade. It ranks third in education, research, and sports among universities nationwide, third in cultural activities among 1,100 universities, and first among 500 state universities.

Former Minister Mr. Subhash Sudha, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rajesh Jogpal, Padma Shri Mahavir Guddu, along with teachers, artists, and students, were also present at the event.
