In a momentous occasion, the Honourable Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Som Parkash (Retd IAS), laid the foundation stone for the Administrative Block and Central Library at the Central University of Punjab.

The ceremony, held at the Central Hall of the university, witnessed the esteemed presence of Prof (Dr.) Raghavendra P Tiwari, the Honourable Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Punjab.The foundation stone laying ceremony marked a significant step towards the development of the university, with the construction estimated at a cost of 36 crore.

Addressing the audience, Prof (Dr.) Raghavendra P Tiwari welcomed the Honourable Minister and shed light on the university's achievements in its relatively short span of 15 years. He emphasized the university's commitment to the vision of Honourable Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi Ji, stating that the institution is dedicated to training young minds with high potential in research and technical skills. The goal is to enable them to contribute significantly to the vision of 'Viksit Bharat 2047,' as envisioned by the Prime Minister.

Speaking at the event, Honourable Minister Sh. Som Parkash commended the visionary leadership of Prof (Dr.) Raghavendra P Tiwari, acknowledging the university's remarkable achievement of obtaining an A+ grade and securing a position among the top 100 universities in India according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). Honourable Minister Sh. Som Parkash applauded the commitment of the Vice Chancellor and highlighted the university's success in achieving an A+ grade and ranking among the top institutions in the country.

He expressed optimism in the capabilities of the young generation, stating that they can realize the vision of Honourable Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation. The Minister praised India's status as the fastest-growing economy globally, citing the rise in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and the country's high ranking in ease of doing business. He attributed these achievements to the visionary leadership and commitment of Honourable Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi.

The ceremony was a testament to the e efforts and commitment of the university towards achieving academic excellence and contributing to the nation's progress. Sh Vijay Kumar Sharma, Registrar, Central University of Punjab expressing the vote of thanks on this occasion.

On this occasion Dean In Charge Academic, Prof Ramakrishna Wasurika, Controllor of Examination, Prof BP Garg, Dean Student Welfare Prof. Sanjeev Thakur, Director IQAC, Monisha Dhiman, Prof Manjeet Bansal, Saurabh Gupta Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer Puneet Jassal, JE Puneet Kumar, JE Manoj Kumar and Iqbal Singh, SI along with other faculty members and non-teaching staff were also present on this occasion.
