The picturesque district of Kulgam is bustling with preparations for the much-anticipated Aharbal Winter Carnival, as local administration led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Athar Aamir Khan convened a key planning meeting at the mini-secretariat. Scheduled to unfold over two days, this carnival is designed to highlight the stunning natural beauty of Aharbal and invigorate the region's tourism sector.

The agenda for the carnival is diverse, promising a blend of cultural showcases, adventure sports including trekking and snow games, and a variety of stalls, among other attractions. DC Athar Aamir Khan underscored the importance of meticulous planning and execution to ensure that the event not only captivates but also offers a seamless and delightful experience to visitors.

In his directives, Khan stressed the importance of advanced preparations across all fronts—from cultural programming and transportation to safety measures—aiming to position the Aharbal Winter Carnival as a cornerstone event for Kulgam's cultural and tourism calendar. The expectation is to attract a wide audience, thereby enriching the visitor experience and spotlighting Kulgam as a prime destination for tourism and leisure.

The meeting saw the participation of key district officials, including Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bashir Ahmad Wani, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Viqar Ahmed Giri, Joint Director Planning Zahid Sajad, Sub-District Magistrate Noorabad Bashir Ul Hassan, and other department heads. This collective effort signifies the administration's commitment to leveraging the carnival as a platform for showcasing Kulgam's beauty and cultural richness to a broader audience.
