Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, was awash in hues of yellow as it celebrated Basant Panchmi, the festival heralding the onset of spring. The campus buzzed with energy and enthusiasm, hosting an array of activities throughout the day that brought the spirit of spring to life.
Students embraced the festive mood by donning yellow attire, paying homage to Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge, music, arts, science, and technology. The highlight of the celebrations was a kite flying competition, where students demonstrated their skills against the backdrop of patriotic songs like “Rang de basanti chola,” adding a vibrant layer to the festivities.
The day was packed with colorful competitions, including rangoli making, mehndi art, poster creation, and innovative hairstyle contests. These activities showcased the diverse talents of CGC Jhanjeri students, from singing and dancing to poetry recitation, earning them widespread applause for their creativity and spirit.
Arsh Dhaliwal, the Managing Director of CGC Jhanjeri, seized the occasion to remind students of the importance of Basant Panchami. He highlighted that the day is dedicated to Maa Saraswati and urged students to dedicate themselves to their studies. Dhaliwal emphasized that quality education is crucial for enlightening one's life with knowledge and overcoming lethargy and ignorance.
Echoing the significance of various festivals in Indian culture, Dhaliwal compared Basant Panchami's devotion to Saraswati with Diwali’s reverence for Lakshmi and Navaratri’s homage to Durga. He stressed that each festival, including Basant Panchami, plays a vital role in celebrating and honoring the different facets of divine femininity and their contributions to knowledge, wealth, power, and valor.
The celebrations at CGC Jhanjeri not only marked the seasonal transition but also reinforced the institution's commitment to fostering an environment where education and cultural heritage flourish together.

ਬਸੰਤ ਰੁੱਤ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਅਤੇ ਠੰਢ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਬਸੰਤ ਪੰਚਮੀ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਆਫ਼ ਕਾਲਜਿਜ ਦੇ ਝੰਜੇੜੀ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਈਵੈਂਟ ਕਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਤੰਗ ਉਡਾਣ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ, ਰੰਗੋਲੀ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ, ਮਹਿੰਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ, ਪੋਸਟਰ ਮੇਕਿੰਗ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ, ਅਤੇ ਹੇਅਰ ਸਟਾਈਲ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਸਮੇਤ ਬਸੰਤ ਪੰਚਮੀ ਦੇ 21 ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਰੰਗਾਰੰਗ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ। ਇਸ ਖ਼ੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਬਿਸਮਨ ਧਾਲੀਵਾਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਜਦ ਕਿ ਸੀ ਜੀ ਸੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੈਜ਼ੀਡੈਂਟ ਰਛਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਾਲੀਵਾਲ, ਐਮ ਡੀ ਅਰਸ਼ ਧਾਲੀਵਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਖਾਣੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਟਾਲਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਖੋ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਪਕਵਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਲਿਆ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਗੋਲ ਗੱਪੇ, ਛੋਲੇ ਕੁਲਚੇ, ਕੋਲਡ ਡਰਿੰਕ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਦ ਕਿ ਜੇਤੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਟਰਾਫ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ। ਬਸੰਤ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸਟੇਜ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਯਾਦਗਾਰੀ ਦਿਨ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਤਾ ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੈਜ਼ੀਡੈਂਟ ਰਛਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਾਲੀਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਸੰਤ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਪਾਇਆ।

बंसत ऋतु के स्वागत तथा ठंड के खत्म होने का संदेश देने वाले त्यौहार बंसत पचंमी का त्यौहार सी जी सी के झंजेड़ी की तरफ से अलग अलग इवेंट करवाते हुए मनाया गया। जिस में अलग अलग दिनों में पतंग उड़ान मुकाबला, रंगोली मुकाबला, मेहंदी कला मुकाबला, पोस्टर मेकिंग मुकाबला, और हेयर स्टाइल बनाने के मुकाबले समेत बसंत पंचमी के दौरान अलग अलग रंगारंग मुकाबले करवाए गए।
कैंपस में लड़कियों का गिद्दा सब से यादगारी रहा। इस रंगारंग कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन बिस्मान धालीवाल ने किया. जबकि सीजीसी के प्रेजिडेंट रछपाल सिंह धालीवाल, एम डी अर्श धालीवाल और कैंपस डायरेटर डॉ. नीरज शर्मा विशेष रूप से उपस्थित थे।इस के साथ ही खाने की स्टालें पर समूह विद्यार्थियों और स्टाफ सदस्यों ने अलग अलग पकवानों का आनंद लिया। जिस में गोल गप्पे, चने कुलचे, कोल्ड ड्रींक और ओर शामिल हैं।
आखिर में इस समारोह में हिस्सा लेने वाले सभी विद्यार्थियों को सर्टिफिकेट दे कर समानित किया गया, जब कि विजेताओं को ट्राफियें के साथ सर्टिफिकेट भी दिए गए । प्रेजीडेंट धालीवाल ने स्टूडेंट्स को बसंत पंचमी की बधाई देते हुए बसंत पंचमी को मनाए जाने के महत्व से स्टूडेंस को अवगत कराते हुए बताया कि आज के दिन माता सरस्वती की पूजा की जाती है। जिसमें मां सरस्वती से अच्छी पढ़ाई के लिए दुआ की जाती है।
