New Delhi , 02 Feb 2024

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) erupted in protest today, accusing the BJP of manipulating the recent Chandigarh Mayor election. Led by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, hundreds of AAP members, MLAs, and ministers marched towards the BJP headquarters in Delhi, demanding justice and a re-election.

Mann: BJP Exposed, Democracy Under Threat

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ignited the crowd, charging the BJP with blatant election rigging caught on camera. He emphasized that this wasn't an isolated incident, but a pattern of BJP's disdain for democratic processes. Referring to the upcoming 2024 elections, Mann warned against potential manipulation and urged vigilance. He further criticized the BJP's parliamentary tactics, drawing parallels to the suppression of dissent in Russia.

Kejriwal: BJP Caught Stealing, Time for Change

Echoing Mann's sentiments, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal declared that the Chandigarh incident marked the end of the BJP's rule. He likened the situation to a verse from the Geeta, signifying the cleansing of sin before a new dawn. Kejriwal reiterated AAP's commitment to fighting for democracy and expressed confidence in securing a re-election through legal means.

Justice Demanded, Re-election Sought:

Both leaders stressed their dedication to seeking justice in the Supreme Court. They demanded a re-election, ensuring the rightful mayor is chosen through a fair and transparent process. The protest marks a significant escalation in the political battle between AAP and BJP, raising concerns about potential election manipulation in the upcoming national elections.
