Deputy Commissioner Amritsar & CEO Amritsar Smart City Limited Sh. Ghanshyam Thori said in a press release that there is a big news for E Auto Drivers as the city will get 19 EV charging stations in operation by the end of the Ja nuary,2024.Today a meeting though VC was held under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary Local Govt. Punjab Sh Ajoy Sharma to review the progress of RAAHI Project. 

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Amritsar & CEO Amritsar Smart City Limited Sh. Ghanshyam Thori, Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation Amritsar & Project Incharge RAAHI Project S. Hardeep Singh, Secretary RTA S. Arshdeep Singh Lubana.  

In the meeting Sh. Thori apprised that EV charging stations at 19 sites company Bagh parking, Railway station Chungi, Kot Khalsa Tubewell, zone No.8 Chehartta, Ram Talai chowk, Guru Nanak Bhawan Parking, inside Bus stand, Bularia Park, Guru Nanak Market, Ranjhe Di Haweli, Gian Ashram International School near Bularia Park, Beri gate near Thana D Division, MCA vehicle workshop, backside Railway Station near Taxi stand, Old Subzi Mandi near Bhandari Bridge, Challi Khui, Gol Bagh, MCA Main Office Ranjit Avenue and Saraghari Multilevel car Parking will be operational by the end of the January,2024 which will be a big boost for aspirants to own E autos under RAAHI Project. 

He said more sites will be allocated to install EV charging stations in the maximum parts of the city in the coming days to combat the increasing demand of EV charging stations. These EV charging stations will benefit not only E Auto drivers but also the two electric wheeler/four electric   wheeler occupiers. He said RAAHI Project is the best scheme to protect the environment of the city and to make it clean & pollution free.  He appealed to all old diesel auto drivers to avail the benefit of cash subsidy of 1.40 lacs & to convert their diesel autos with E autos. Dr Jyoti Mahajan & Ashish Kumar from RAAHI Project were present in the meeting.
